Carpathian spruce guitar tops

Carpathian spruce ( picea abies/picea excelsa ) is a European spruce originating in the Carpathian mountains near southern Ukraine. Carpathian spruce is creamy white and its intense cross-silk gives it a silvery appearance when held in the light. These soundboards are typically quite stiff with more pronounced, wider, grain lines, hence the comparison to Red spruce. Carpathian tops are lighter in weight than Red spruce yet extremely stiff across the grain which gives Carpathian spruce a rich complex sound with strong individual note clarity.
Carpathian is ideal for both small and full bodied instruments; it has a wide dynamic range and can stand up to being driven hard.
