Colonial Tonewoods

Cherry guitar sets

American Cherry (prunus serotina) grows generally through the eastern part of the United States. The heartwood varies from rich red to reddish-brown, with fine, close grain and narrow brown pith flecks. We hand select our lumber from thousands of board feet and select only the best figured wood available. (Figured cherry occurs in less than 3% of all cherry trees harvested.)  Curly Cherry is an orange-red that gradually matures to a light brown with age. Its density is similar to that of maple and walnut. Tonally cherry produces a strong rich midrange with even balance and clear trebles.
