Colonial Tonewoods

Curly maple guitar sets

The renowned inventor and visionary, Loyd Loar, used Sugar Maple to create some of the finest stringed instruments ever made. Sugar maple is stiff, strong and stable, giving it a bright and long lasting tap tone. Curly Maple, with consistent, heavy figure, is extremely rare and occurs in only 5% of sugar maple trees. This is why our Curly Sugar Maple is hand selected for its color, grain structure and maximum figure. We only want the best. It works easily and the fiddleback sets we’ve acquired are breathtaking when finished.
