Colonial Tonewoods

Figured Movingui guitar sets

Movingui (distemonanthus benthamianus) is a lemon yellowed colored wood which originates in the forests of West Africa. It is commonly called African or Nigerian satinwood because its heartwood is very lustrous and some of the highly figured wood resembles satinwood. It is tonally similar to Makore, North American cherry and black walnut. You can expect warm, woody tones with plenty of bass response and crisp trebles.

In the years we've procured and inspected logs, we've never seen Movingui with bird's-eye figure. If you want something truly unique and rare, we'd suggest you stock up because it is safe to say you'll never find Movingui back and side sets with this rare figure. We have a limited amount of sets available so don't delay in adding sets to your inventory.
